Marvin Lyle Claude was born on Wednesday; February 21, 1923 near Woolstock; Wright County, Iowa. He was the son of: Emile L. & Marie E. (Ahnne) Claude. Marvin was one of four boys who graduated from Woolstock High School in 1940. In January 1942 Marvin enlisted in the US Navy. He retired in 1961. On Saturday; February 5, 1944 he married Virginia Mae Anderson in Webster City; Hamilton County, Iowa. Marvin was a custodian with Moline Community Schools until retiring in 1981. His memberships included Fleet Reserve Association, Friend of the Ban de la Roche, and the Webster City Birthday Club. His membership was with the New Testament Church of Webster City, Iowa. Marvin was a past trustee of the Northeast Iowa Christian Service Camp. Marvin Lyle Claude, age 85, passed away on Friday; January 2, 2009 at his home in Webster City, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife of 64 years: Marie. His three daughters: Jacqueline (Harry) Laun of Edmonton Alberta, Canada. Mary Elinor Kuhn of Paint Lick; Garrard County, Kentucky. Cynthia Claude-Rawson of Waterloo; Black Hawk County, Iowa. His brother: Gaylord (Barb) Claude of Moline; Rock Island County, Illinois. His sister: Dorothy Jeanne DeMarce of Red Oak; Montgomery County, Iowa. His seven grandchildren and his eleven great grandchildren. Marvin was preceded in death by his daughter of Linda Banker. His son-in-law: Jake Kuhn. His sister: Ruth & brother-in-law: John Stepp. His brother: Richard Claude. His brother-in-law: John DeMarce. His sister-in-law: Rose Claude & a grandson in infancy. May they rest in peace. As per Marvin's wishes, his body was donated and a memorial service will be held this spring under the direction of the funeral home.
