Marcell Terese Rasch, the daughter of Kenneth and Donna (VanHooser) Pommer, was born January 5, 1957 in Fort Dodge. She attended elementary school in Otho and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1975. Marcell was united in marriage to Kem Rasch on October 11, 1980 and the couple made their home and raised their family in Fort Dodge. Marcell graduated from LaJames Cosmetology and worked as a beautician for many years. She also was employed at Becker's Florist as well as a proud entrepreneur of Marcell's Interior and Design. She most recently worked for Acosta Sales and Marketing, and enjoyed working as the local foreign exchange student coordinator for the past 15 years. Marcell loved gardening and recently was involved in the tour of gardens. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Choir and was especially involved with her fellow CRHP group (Christ Renews His Parish).
Marcell was a vibrant, outgoing, fun loving person who loved life and always wanted to share her happiness and joy with others. She cherished her family and was very proud of her children. She is survived by her husband Kem of Fort Dodge, her sons Jay (Julie) Masching of Carroll, Logan Rasch of Tuscan, Ariz., and Luke Rasch of Rapid City, S.D.; her daughter Launa (fiance Dave Misleh) of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one grandson Joseph Masching; her parents Kenneth and Donna Pommer of Otho; her sisters Melanie (Steve) Fortney, Kendra (Brant) Crapser; her brothers Kendal Pommer and Kent Pommer; her uncle Butch (Margaret) Pommer of Des Moines, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Kenny and Jane Rasch; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Kevin (Shelley) Rasch, Molly (Pat) VanArnam, Amy (Steve) Dencklau, Sara LaBruzzo, Martha (Ron) Steinkamp, Joel (Cyndi) Rasch, Teresa (Larry) Brown, Melissa (Daniel) Maddux, Justin (Cherissa) Rasch, Ann (Michael) Crouse, Greg (Theresa) Rasch. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Marcell mentioned to her loved ones that when the day came that the Lord "punched her ticket", everybody better not be sitting around crying about her death, but rather take the opportunity to come together and celebrate her life. She wanted nothing but bright colors and lots of "BLING" at her funeral.
