Obituary
Loren J. Miller, 91, of Otho, passed away December 9, 2020 at Friendship Haven of Covid-19.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor VanNostrand officiating. Military honors and burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home. (Masks required.)
Loren James Miller, son of Henry and Luella (PeCoy) Miller, was born October 22, 1929. Raised in Pomeroy, Loren then served in the Army serving as a medic in the Korean War from 1951 – 1953. He was united in marriage to Euvon Pohl on October 16, 1954. The couple met while roller-skating and he enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, playing cards and loved gardening. He cherished time spent with his family, especially the babies. Loren’s first and only job was at National Gypsum, employed 45 years, retiring in 1992. They enjoyed winters in Texas for 13 years. A member of Prince of Peace Church, he served as a trustee. He was a volunteer fireman in Otho.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Euvon; his children Steve Miller, Starla Hoover and Scott (Patti) Miller; 7 granddaughters and 12 great grandchildren; one great, great grandson due this Christmas; his sister Lynda Miller of Tyler, TX; sister-in-law Chris Miller and brother-in-law Truman Staecker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Fred and Hazel Pohl; brothers Roy, Lyle, Thomas, Ray and Douglas; sisters Joyce Crouse, Irene Crilly and Priscilla Staecker, infant brother John, baby sister Rita and step grandson Corey Grossnickle.
